Our Hardwood Plus Plantation Shutter is our most popular shutter option that is made from real hardwood to reduce the weight and is a very durable and strong hardwood shutter with an extremely robust frame, both suitable for staining or painting in any custom paint finish and this product is ethically sourced from sustainable forests and allows us to provide a cost-efficient hardwood Plantation Shutter.

The panels are made in a very light, grainy timber offering a superb character look stained and paint finished. It's is ideal on very wide openings where tracking is not desired. It is also used for conservatory roof shutters.

This range is available in 20 paint colours and a wide range of louvre sizes, but the biggest benefit is the fact you can hinge 3 panels together to provide a shutter solution ideal for large windows and expanses with the hardwood panels keeping the weight of shutters down to help prevent bowing and warping

For all Plantation Shutters you will always find an element of inconsistent light ingress through the slats. Privacy and light control are dependent on louvre sizes. Large Louvres give more light and small Louvres provide more privacy.

There will be light coming through where the slats of the shutters meet and the edges of opening frames.

The level of light may not be consistent across the entire shutter. Tracked Shutters will have light gaps where the tracks are.

It is important to know that, due to their design and operation, shutters are a light diffusing product, rather than blackout.
